Starting next year, the knowledge test for Level 2 and TMP will only be available online through the Tripoli website. The system has been in use since August 2025 and has already supported over 400 Level 2 certifications, along with a growing number of TMP exams.
Here’s what to know:
- The old in-person, proctored exams go away after December 31, 2025.
- Headquarters will still accept in-person exams dated on or before December 31, 2025 through February 28, 2026.
- After that, only certificates from the online exam system will be accepted.
For your certification flight:
- Only the knowledge exam is moving online. The flight portion is still done in person.
- Before flying a Level 2 cert flight or TMP M1 flight, you’ll need to show your online exam certificate to your certifying authority (Prefect, TAP, or BOD).
- The universal certification form has been updated and now asks for your certificate ID and granted date.
Quick access tip: You must be logged in to the Tripoli website in order to take the online exams. If you try to open the exam without being logged in, the page will return an error and the test will not load.
If you’re planning to work toward Level 2 or TMP in 2026 or later, plan on taking the knowledge exam online ahead of time so your launch day goes smoothly.
