The Tripoli Rocketry Association is proud to announce the immediate launch of our new Level 2 Online Written Test platform. Starting today, certified Level 1 members can complete the written portion of their Level 2 certification online—before arriving at the launch range.
This initiative reflects Tripoli’s commitment to modernizing our certification process and adapting to the tools and practices that are common in today’s world. The online system has undergone extensive testing during a soft rollout and is now ready for member use.
Once a member passes the online test, they will receive a downloadable certificate that must be presented to their Certifying Prefect before proceeding with the in-person flight. The flight portion of Level 2 certification remains unchanged and continues to be the defining step in confirming a flyer’s skills, safety knowledge, and readiness.
We understand that moving away from a proctored exam may raise questions. This decision was made carefully, with the recognition that the written test is designed to confirm understanding rather than act as a barrier. The online system provides a reliable, consistent, and trackable way for members to complete this requirement, while preserving the rigor of the certification process. Trust remains central to Tripoli’s mission, and we are confident that this tool will make the certification process more efficient without compromising integrity.
