The Tripoli Board has set up a Certified Manufacturers Demo program to allow motors to fly at Tripoli launches for the purpose of flight testing under Tripoli supervision and to provide visibility to Tripoli members at sanctioned launches. The Tripoli BOD is primarily responsible for granting these demos thru request either from the board or from the Tripoli Motor Testing Committee. These demos will have the ground rules set up front about "what, when and where" the flights will take place. The start and stop dates will be set at approval and typically will be from 6 months to one year. The current Demos in progress will be listed below.
CURRENT DEMOS IN PROGRESS
| Manufacturer | Motor Technology | When/Where to Fly | Start Date | End Date |
| RATT Motor Works | Tribrid | EX only | Feb 2003 | June 2005 |
| SkyRipper Systems | New U/C Hybrids | Commercial | Aug 2004 | Jul 2005 |
| West Coast Hybrids | U/C Hybrids | Commercial | Mar 2005 | Mar 2006 |
| Loki Research | AP motors | Commercial | Mar 2004 | Mar 2005 |
The RATT Tribrid (K350T) is a new motor technology utilizing two fuels (PVC, liquid Alcohol) and one oxidizer (liquid nitrous oxide). The motor is started as a pure hybrid (PVC, NOS) and then kicks into alcohol/NOS about one half second into the burn. This motor is required to be flown by no less than 10 Tripoli level 3 flyers with notes to the manufacturer. The manufacturer will then submit this technology to allow the BOD to enter the decision path on certification and general flight. The BOD voted to extend this testing certificate to June 2005. The testing program has been going well and this motors show nice promise.
