Hi folks: I'm sorry for this, but after sending you the contact information for the Central and Eastern Service Centers, I found that at least Central handles them differently from us. All Central Service Center rocket launches are filed directly with the overlying Air Route Traffic Control Center - this has NOT changed! If you have questions or don't know which ARTCC, then you may of course contact the person listed below. If folks in the East have been doing it a different way also, don't change that. The only real change has apparantly been in the Western states. I apologize for creating some confusion, but hopefully this will finally straighten it out. The bottom line is for folks in the western states NOT to send them to the Western Pacific region, because many of those applications have just disappeared. Please let me know if you have further questions.

To rocket launch waiver applicants:
Feel free to forward this information to anyone you know who submits rocket/balloon launch waiver applications.
Because I have received several inquiries, this is to clarify to you where to submit applications for rocket launch waivers.
Last year, the FAA Air Traffic Division went through a major change. The nine regional office divisions were combined into 3 Service Centers, and the Division then split into 5 groups. There are one or two specialists in each of the 3 System Support Groups assigned to handle these waiver requests. Although I can only speak to the details here in the Western Service Center, I can give you the contact info for the whole country. (I've copied the other folks so they can make any corrections if necessary). For the quickest, best service, please direct inquiries and waiver applications to the appropriate service center as much as possible. However, we will help out anyone who calls us, regardless of their location in the country.
