After a nine-year period
of smooth running in
The reason for this change is that Phyllis Kelly, our current HQ manager, has (after careful
consideration) elected to resign from this position. Phyllis has been responsible for HQ operations
since early 2000, taking over from her daughter Lisa Kelly, who had previously
managed HQ from December 1997. During
this period, HQ has been operating efficiently, and has supported the needs of
the organization very well. However, as
the role of HQ has evolved over time, and changes have occurred within the
Kelly household, Phyllis decided that continuing to maintain HQ was becoming
inconsistent with her present and future plans.
She therefore communicated to me at the beginning of the month of
September that she was resigning as HQ manager, effective at the end of the
month. Phyllis was very gracious in her
communication to me, offering to help as we made a change to a new HQ. She and Bruce Kelly have both been very
helpful in working with me on the mechanics of transitioning this duty.
I extend my sincere thanks to Phyllis, Lisa, Bruce, and the Kelly
family for providing such a long run of superior support to the organization,
in this vital role. I wish them well in
their future endeavors.
The TRA Board of Directors has engaged in a thorough discussion
and evaluation of the needs for our new provider of HQ support, and who should
become the new manager of TRA HQ. We
realized that we needed to act without delay in order to make sure that the
transition could take place expeditiously and smoothly. Accordingly, we have voted to appoint Debra Trojanowski as our new HQ manager,
and she has accepted the position. Deb
had previously expressed interest in this duty, and the BoD agreed that we
would have a high degree of trust and confidence in her abilities to perform
the duties required. The understanding
of this appointment is that it will be for the period of the remainder of 2006
and all of 2007. In the 3rd quarter of 2007,
the TRA BoD will review the arrangement to ascertain whether the position
should be put out for a bid for subsequent periods.
It should come as no surprise that Deb’s husband and TRA
webmaster, Kevin Trojanowski, has and will continue to support her with various
matters related to the start-up and running of HQ. I am very pleased that Deb and Kevin have
agreed to work with us and take over this duty.
Please extend a "welcome" to Deb Trojanowski as she
assumes the role of TRA HQ manager.
